SELECTED CERTIFIED NO-PRECEDENT DETERMINATIONS · CLIENT DETAILS WITHHELD
We publish selected determinations with client consent. Details are generalized. The novelty is preserved.
A contract structure combining elements from three unrelated legal traditions in a way that is technically valid under all three but has never been executed together. Our research spanned 14 jurisdictions and 80 years of case law. No precedent found.
An organizational structure for a company that operates simultaneously as a nonprofit, a for-profit, and a mutual society, each fully valid under its respective legal framework, without any of the three conflicting with the others. Legal scholars we consulted described this as "theoretically possible but practically why." No precedent found.
A business model the client described as entirely original. We found three prior implementations, one of which was moderately successful. We issued a Precedent Found Report. The client was not pleased. The client was informed. We consider these compatible outcomes.
An apology, delivered in writing, that satisfied both parties without either party having to acknowledge the original offense. The framing was sufficiently indirect that the underlying issue is now technically unresolved but functionally moot. No precedent for this exact configuration found. (We referred the client to Moot Point for the underlying unresolved issue.)
The interpersonal situation as described. Our researcher's note on this file: "I have reviewed the record thoroughly. This is, as far as I can determine, new. I don't know what to make of that, but I don't need to. No precedent found." Certificate issued.
